You were designed to be extraordinary…
is your health holding you back?

hey you

Does this sound familiar?

Do you struggle with back pain, neck pain, headaches, low energy, limited mobility or sciatica?

Are you at the point where you have honestly tried your best but nothing you’ve done seems to help?

Could there be something else going on that you haven’t considered?

Are your symptoms the REAL problem or just collateral damage?

If yes, then you’ve come to the right place!

After helping thousands of people just like you get results it’s become clear that problems like pain, headaches, low energy, indigestion and poor immune function are almost always secondary issues, NOT primary problems.

At the Wellman Clinic we are not traditional chiropractors focused on fixing your health challenges by addressing your symptoms. Don’t get us wrong, there is nothing wrong with this approach. It will likely help you feel and move better however, it doesn’t address the real problem and quick fixes rarely last.

OUR APPROACH

Uncovering Hidden Issues, Crafting Custom Solutions

Our comprehensive Neuro-Spinal examination process is designed to see if you have a core problem with your spine and nerve system affecting you in ways you feel, but more importantly in ways that have not yet surfaced into obvious problems or conditions.

If our objective tests identify a core problem in your spine and nerve system we will develop a customized plan that will both improve your symptoms and help ensure that the problem doesn’t return.

Our Services

A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of problems can Chiropractic help?

Here is a short list of some of the conditions that have benefited from our Corrective Chiropractic approach:

  • back pain
  • neck pain
  • headaches
  • hip & leg pain
  • shoulder & arm pain
  • other spinal problems
  • postural distortion
  • neurologic disorders
  • balance & coordination problems
  • torticollis
  • sciatica
  • disc injuries
  • whiplash
  • lack of mobility
  • high blood pressure
  • arthritis
  • immune suppression
  • bell’s palsy
  • multiple sclerosis
  • pregnancy related problems/pain
  • degenerative joint disease
  • stress & anxiety
  • vertigo

Sometimes patients report other health-related benefits after being under chiropractic care. While it’s not the goal of chiropractic to treat these conditions (and it might have nothing to do with chiropractic care), this has been the anecdotal evidence from some of our patients.

The above list are all secondary problems. Our job is to find and fix the core problems with your spine and nerve system so your body can heal and fix any secondary problems on its own.

If your symptom is caused by a core problem with your spine and nerve system we can help you, if not, we can’t.

Does Chiropractic Hurt?

If we find a core problem with your spine and nerve system, our goals is to fix that problem as quickly and as safely as possible.

Your comfort is vital to that process. Our approach is gentle and effective – no twisting, cracking or popping – in fact most patients comment on how relaxed they feel after their treatment.

What Should I Expect on My First Visit?

Part 1 – The Consultation

The consultation is just a conversation.

The purpose of the consultation is to help us learn more about your problem including your health history, current health (including stressors) and your future health goals.

If anything in your case history suggests that your core problem is located in your spine or nervous system we would recommend doing a complete neuro-spinal examination.

Part 2 – The Neuro-Spinal Examination

The purpose of the examination is to:

  1. Assess for any damage to your spine and nerve system
  2. Determine if this damage is causing or contributing to your health problem and…
  3. Learn what level of care (including frequency) is necessary to solve your problem.

The neuro-spinal examination is comprehensive and consists of several tests. Here are just a few:

  1. Heart Rate Variability

Heart Rate Variability is used to measure how well your brain and spine and communicating to the rest of your body. This test will show us if you have any nerve pressure.

  1. Surface Electromyography (sEMG)

sEMG is used to measure the small, but vitally important muscles surrounding your spine. The results of this test help determine where the tight and weak muscles of your spine are and, most importantly, how those muscles are distorting your spine.

  1. Active Palpation

The doctor will be checking your posture and physically examining your spine to locate any areas of chronic damage, swelling, edema, redness or other signs that your spine and nerve system might have suffered damage.

Once the examination is complete our doctors will spend time analyzing the tests and present you with the results. The results of our tests will tell you:

  1. Exactly what is happening
  2. What options you have
  3. How we can help you
  4. How long it will take
  5. How much it will cost

Once all of your questions have been answered, and you and your doctor agree on a plan of action that solves your problem, you can start your care immediately.

How Much Will it Cost?

We promise not to waste your time and money.

That is why on our first meeting we have a conversation at no charge to determine if you have a problem we are able to help and if our approach is the right fit.

If you would like to continue with an examination, the cost will be $182 (this includes your examination, review of results and a small fee for x-rays that is not covered by OHIP).

A regular spinal check-up is $55

What about my health care benefits?

If you are lucky enough to have coverage towards chiropractic care that can significantly reduce your costs even further. Please contact your insurance provider to learn the full extent of your coverage because there can be great variety in plans.

How Long Until I See Results?

To adequately answer that question there are 3 things we must consider;

  1. Your goals
  2. How long your problem been there
  3. The results of your Neuro-Spinal Examination

Sadly we don’t have a crystal ball and thus can’t predict the future, but, past on our clinical experience what we find is that some patients experience immediate changes after their first spinal check-up and correction while for others it has taken longer. On average, most of our patients notice some positive changes within the first 4-8 weeks of care.

I don't have any symptoms can I still see you?

Believe it or not, a large percentage of our patients come to see us without any pain or symptoms.

They understand that it’s easier to avoid a problem than to try to fix one once it occurs. They seek Chiropractic care as a preventative strategy to address any core problems with their spine and nerve system before they can have negative overall health effects on their life.

Once I Go to a Chiropractor Will I Have to Go Forever?

No. Chiropractic is not addictive and you can stop coming at any time.

Our job is to assess your spine and nerve system and if we find a core problem with it to make recommendations on how we can help you fix that problem.

It is true that many of our patients want to protect the investment in care that they have made and they choose to make regular Chiropractic care at the Wellman Clinic part of their health care but they always do so by choice and not because they are addicted.

Is it Safe for my Kids to see a Chiropractor?

Yes, it is safe for children to see us. We do not use the same technique and pressure when checking children as we do with an adult.

If you are considering bringing your child to see us, let’s set up a consultation to build their case history and see if we need to perform an examination.

How Do I Know if I Need a Chiropractor?

The short answer is you probably don’t know.

It’s true pain and symptoms are a sign that your body needs help, but those are only one sign. To see if we can help we first need to learn more about you and your problem

I hear too many traditional and general chiropractors jumping the gun and telling their patients, without running one single test, that they can help them. That is often false information.

For you to know if we can help you or not we first need to perform a consultation and an examination.

The consultation helps us know your case history and the examination will reveal if you have a core problem with your spine and nerve system that we can help with.

If you do have a core problem with your spine and nerve system, the examination will help us know the extent of the damage and what we need to do to fix this problem.

If you do not have a core problem with your spine and nerve system, it means that you don’t have a problem that we can help with. In this case we will make a referral to a health care practitioner that will be able to help you.
